Foundations: The 0-1 Mechanics
To understand Phalanx Duel, you must first master the interaction between your cards and the board. Phalanx Duel is a game of geometric consequence.
1. Deployment: The Front and Back Rows
Your column consists of two ranks.
- Front Rank: Takes the initial impact of the attack.
- Back Rank: Provides reinforcement and defensive support.
2. The Cascade: Mechanics of Damage
When an attacker engages, the damage doesn’t just subtract health—it cascades.
- Carryover: If a Front Rank defender is destroyed, the remaining damage flows to the Back Rank defender.
- Breach: If all defenders are destroyed, damage flows to your Core Life Points (LP).
3. The Suit Shields
- Diamonds (♦): Absorb carryover damage.
- Hearts (♥): Prevent damage to your Core LP.
